APPLICATION TO REGISTER AN IMPORTED DOG

Before you start the process of registering an imported dog, it is important that you have in hand an Export Pedigree issued by the Kennel Club of the Country from which your dog has been imported. An imported dog can only be registered on the person which appears as the owner on the Export Pedigree. If the Export Pedigree does not show the owner, a Registration Certificate issued by the same Kennel Club of the Country from which your dog has been imported must be produced.
Your dog would need to be registered with an appropriate overseas Kennel Club and would need to be in the ownership of the applicant, who must reside in Malta.
The MNCF will normally only accept registration for dogs from overseas countries when the following applies:

  • The breed is recognized by the MNCF.
  • The owner and the dog are resident at an address in Malta.
